Many small ISPs also run cameras for the town. The same probe that watches your OLT watches the NVR, and every camera on it is listed beside the rest of your network.
Cameras are to an NVR what ONUs are to an OLT
The NVR itself is a monitored device like an OLT, with its own outage state and its own pages. Its cameras are a list under it, not devices of their own. The NVR needs no public IP and no port forwarding.
Dahua and CP Plus NVRs are supported today. An NVR needs its login stored and a short one-time setup, which we do with you.
What down means
HansaNet and the NVR never disagree about a camera. A channel HansaNet cannot read reads unknown, never offline. A channel you delete on the NVR disappears here too.
Paging, the mute, and snapshots
Camera down and camera restored page your crew on WhatsApp. Cameras that change together come as one message per NVR, so a switch failing under a rack of cameras is one page. A camera going dark is an issue, and the Home tile, the issues list, the device tree and the map ring all count the same cameras.
Each camera has a mute. Watching is on by default. Switch it off for a camera you know is down for a reason and it reads muted and leaves the down count. A snapshot is one still picture, fetched when you ask for it and never kept on our side. Some camera models serve no snapshot at all, and the dialog says so.
An NVR is a monitored device at Rs 100 a month minimum. Its cameras are not counted. See pricing.
What it does not do
- Cameras are not devices. A camera is never reached on its own, and there is no window onto its web page. Everything comes through the NVR.
- IP camera channels only. A DVR's analog channels are not supported.
- Dahua and CP Plus only. Another make needs us to add it first.
- HansaNet keeps no footage. A snapshot is fetched when you ask and never stored. There is no recording and no playback here.
- If the NVR itself is unreachable, no camera pages. That is the NVR's own outage, and outage detection pages it.
- Some NVR web pages do not open through the dashboard. See the device web UI.
