VSOL, Huawei, ZTE, Nokia and the rest

If your OLT is not on the vendor list, you still get uptime, ports, outage paging and the web UI on day one. The ONU roster and optical readings follow once we have seen your box.

What you get on day one, on any OLT

• Outage detection and paging. Yes. A confirmed outage in about a minute, everything below the failed box held quiet, and the crew paged on WhatsApp. See outage detection and WhatsApp alerts.
• Ports and bandwidth. Yes, on any brand. PON port up or down, and the rate on each uplink.
• Test SNMP. Yes. A verdict from the dashboard on whether the box answers the probe, and what to fix when it does not.
• The OLT's own web pages from the dashboard. Yes, whatever the vendor, with no port forwarding. See device web UI.
• Fibre records, the field app and customer notices. Yes, none of it depends on the OLT's brand.

What follows later

The ONU roster, optical power per ONU and health readings are added per OLT family. On a family we have not run yet, that is a short one-time setup, which we do with you, and it is done on your own box. Nothing is installed on the OLT.

Vendor notes

Huawei GPON (MA5600T family)

The ONU roster is ready for this family. It has not run on a customer's box yet, so treat it as ready to try rather than proven.

VSOL, ZTE, Nokia, Fiberhome, HSGQ

Day one coverage as above. The roster and optics follow once we have seen your box. We expect these families to give a lot, and we say so only after we have run one.

Photon Broadband

Run on a customer's box. Uptime and ports work. No health readings on this family.

Generic GEPON boxes

The one unit we have met gives uptime and PON port state and nothing per ONU. Its web UI still opens from the dashboard.

C-Data, DBC, Syrotech, Stelfiber, BDCOM

Each has its own page: C-Data and DBC EPON, Syrotech and C-Data GPON, Stelfiber STGP08X, BDCOM EPON.

Switches and the rest of the rack

Ports and bandwidth work on any switch or router. Health readings are running today on TP-Link Omada JetStream switches, DCN and BDCOM switches, MAIPU and Fiberhome, and the HFC WDM and EDFA optical amplifiers. See switch and router monitoring.

What you do not get

• No optical readings on a family we have not run yet. We do not print a number we cannot measure.
• No logo wall. A vendor appears on the vendor page once we have run it on a real unit.
• ONU provisioning, zero touch configuration and remote ONU reboot are not part of the product.

Getting started

Add the OLT in the dashboard, enable SNMP read only for the probe, and run Test SNMP. Some families need one extra credential, which we set up with you.
